Frequently Asked Questions

Getting Started

  • It is very rare that we adjust on your first appointment, but for good reason.  On day one, our goal is to figure out what has been going on and what we need to do to correct it. This often includes a full health history, an exam, and any necessary x-rays. Going through this process first equips us to adjust you in the safest and most effective way.

On your second visit, we’ll go over the findings with you, and then you’ll receive your first adjustment.  This approach ensures we get to the root cause and create an effective plan for care.

  • We work with what you've got on, but recommend wearing whatever makes you feel comfortable.

  • Healing's a journey, not a sprint. Your body has been dealing with stress for a while, so give it time to bounce back. Some patients feel better after their first visit, others take longer. It depends on your unique situation and how your body responds. What matters is that you're taking steps to get your nervous system back on track. Keep showing up, follow your care plan, and trust the process.

  • Chiropractors have been helping people of all ages for nearly 130 years.  We have learned and researched much in that time to ensure every single adjustment is safe and effective.  But like any profession, not every chiropractor is the same.  At NGFC, your safety is our priority—which is why we utilize over a dozen different adjusting techniques and tools to ensure the safest and most beneficial treatments for you and your family.  In addition, through our new patient process, we will be able to identify not only what to do to help you, but also what NOT to do.  In this way we have been able to safely help thousands of people with even the most complex issues.

  • The purpose of a chiropractic adjustment is to correct any stress in your spine and nervous system.  While this usually results in relief of pain and increased range of motion, the process of healing can cause mild soreness.  Much like muscles healing after a hard workout, you might feel somewhat sore after your first adjustment or two. It’s a necessary part of the healing process, but many people feel nothing but relief with their adjustments.

  • There is no one-size-fits-all answer here. Your spine is unique, just like you. We'll assess where you're at, create a plan that fits your needs, and adjust as we go. Some folks need more care, others less. What matters is restoring your body’s natural ability to heal and function at its best.  Our goal is to set you up for long-term health, not just quick fixes.

Special Cases

  • Chiropractic care during pregnancy is not only safe, it's incredibly beneficial. Your body is going through a lot of changes right now, and your spine's feeling it. Regular adjustments can help manage those aches and pains, improve your posture, and even make delivery easier. We use special techniques (like Webster) and equipment designed just for expecting moms. Many women find it helps them enjoy their pregnancy more. Plus, when mom's spine is aligned, your baby has more room to grow and move. It's a win-win for both of you.

  • Your spine is designed to move and curve in specific ways. Surgery often fuses those bones together, and that's a painful "fix" that can create more problems down the road. Now, don't get me wrong—sometimes surgery is necessary. But too often, it's suggested as a quick solution without addressing what's really going on. We've seen patients walk through our doors facing surgery and leave with reversed conditions like spondylosis, herniated discs, and chronic pain. Before you make a big decision like surgery, consider scheduling an evaluation with our team, and let's see if we can get you back on track without going under the knife.

  • Absolutely. Many people come to us after surgery looking for relief and better function. We'll start by taking a close look at your specific case—your surgery type, when it happened, and how you've healed. Then we'll tailor our approach to your needs. Adjustments can help with post-surgery stiffness, scar tissue, and that nagging discomfort that sometimes sticks around. We're not here to undo your surgery, but to help your body work better with the changes. Just remember, everyone's different, so we'll take it step by step and adjust our care to what works best for you.

  • Yes, scoliosis care is one of the things we do best.  We specialize in Structural Correction of the spine, so scoliosis is right up our alley. We've worked with some tough cases and have seen great improvements. For adults, we can make significant progress in alignment and pain levels. With kids, however, we can catch scoliosis early. Their growing spines are more responsive to complete correction, which is why we always encourage early check-ups and care for children.  An ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure.

Insurance & Cost

  • We believe in transparent pricing and flexible options to fit your needs.

Our New Patient Special starts at $52 for your first visit, which includes a thorough evaluation and any necessary X-rays (normally $130).  Kids who are too young for X-rays will typically be adjusted on their first visit.  Their adjustment is also included in the New Patient Special at just $52.

As a new patient, your first handful of adjustments will be $60.  As you are improving and your spine is healing, you will be able to transition into Wellness Care, where we are able to apply various discounts.  How long it takes to move into Wellness Care is dependent on your needs.  Your doctor will cover this in detail as you are going over your plan of care after your first adjustment.

Under Wellness Care, adult adjustments start at $50 and kids at $30.  From there, we have different membership options, payment plans, and family discounts that make care affordable even for large families.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns, and feel free to ask how you can get your family members checked for free!

  • We aim to keep our care affordable and accessible. To do this, we've chosen to limit our direct involvement with insurance companies. Here's how we handle insurance:

    ·   We accept most government-issued Medicare and we work with the VA.

    ·   For all other insurance plans, we can provide you with superbills. This allows you to seek reimbursement directly from your insurance provider based on your coverage.

    ·   We do not currently accept Personal Injury claims or work with auto accidents.  In those cases we can provide superbills.

    ·   We gladly accept HSA and FSA payments.

Our decision not to work directly with most insurance companies helps keep our prices down and more affordable for you. Insurance companies often dictate costs, which can drive up prices for everyone. By minimizing this involvement, we can make quality care accessible without the complexities and increased costs that often come with extensive insurance processing.
